The Moretta Economic Development Corporation is a California nonprofit organization established in 2006 for community outreach purposes, with an emphasis on creating pathways to essential resources for individuals and families of low income and modest means, particularly minorities and woman of African American communities. Your support helps to provide families with key resources that are key to attaining homeownership, economic opportunities, wellness and overall improved quality of life.
The clients of our communities want knowledge, the ability to participate and have asked for our help. Our goal is to deliver resources that create economic self-sufficiency, increase savings rates, increase homeownership rates and directly impact families, neighborhoods and community infrastructure, by teaching and disseminating educational information through core programs and services in the following areas:
v Financial literacy and credit education - For lifelong learning and access to capital, wealth building, retirement planning,
v Pre- and Post-Homeownership education and housing development - To create thriving communities of choice by stimulating the dream of homeownership through home buying, credit management and responsible loan programs
v Business economic education - To improve economic opportunities and increase minority entrepreneurialism in areas of income inequality, business failures and create commercial districts for commerce that support and encourage micro and small business ownership opportunities
v Women & Youth – To educate and empower in areas related to current issues, such as unemployment, domestic violence, drug abuse, body image, and financial literacy
v Wellness and Safety – To advance essential awareness resources for disease, injury and domestic violence prevention
v Arts & Cultural Diversity – To celebrate and honor the cultural richness of the communities we serve and change mindsets, attitudes and outcomes
v Vibrant communities of choice. Engaged, educated and self-sufficient individuals are key measurable outcomes of the Moretta Community Development Corporation, and nonprofit sister organization, the Moretta Economic Community Develoment Corporation. We foster innovation, creativity and connectivity by collaborating with "like-minded" agencies and organizations from the public, private and civic sectors.
